Dry Bean, Black Coco
A bush bean usually grown for its dry seed, although it can be eaten as a snap bean before the pods swell. Use in stews, for refried beans, etc. Similar to black turtle, but bigger and higher yielding. Plant in warm, fertile soil, in full sun—usually in mid-to-late May on the coast. Harvest when pods are dry and beans rattle inside. Approx. 50 seeds/packet
