Tobacco
Nicotiana rustica. Many people don’t know that tobacco grows quite well on the west coast. Worthwhile to have in the herb or flower garden for its large ornamental leaves and two feet tall flower spikes covered in little yellow flowers. The leaves can be dried and smoked, if that is your thing. Sow the tiny seeds in mid-spring inside in pots barely covering the seeds. Keep warm and moist until sprouting. Transplant to the garden when it warms up in May. Approx. 50 seeds/packet
