Epazote
Native to Central and South America, but grows very well in temperate climates as well. Epazote has a distinctly pungent scent and is added to dishes like cooked beans for flavouring and its anti-flatulence properties. Easy to grow, and if allowed to go to seed it will naturalize in the garden. Direct seed into the garden in May, or start inside and transplant out in May. Plant the tiny seeds no more than 1/4” deep and keep moist until they sprout.
